كان اسم الـجـولـانـي في السابق مرادفًا للتطرف والإرهـاب. أما اليوم، ومع حملات التلميع الغربية، وتقارير مراكز الأبحاث التي تناقش البراغماتية، فقد بات واضحًا أن هناك عملية تغيير مدروسة، ببصمات أمريكية مباشرة، لإعادة إنتاج الـجـولـانـي في صورة يمكن التعايش معها سياسيًا.

تصريحات جيفري تكشف أن ما سُمي بـ”الضغط على الأسد” لم يكن يومًا لأجل الديمقراطية، ولا من أجل حقوق الإنسان، ولا حتى لمحاربة الإرهـاب. بل كان الهدف الحقيقي هو فرض بدائل جاهزة، بغض النظر عن ماضيها الدموي، طالما أنها لا تُعطّل مصالح واشنطن الاستراتيجية.

ويثير هذا الاعتراف أسئلة موجعة:

• هل كانت الولايات المتحدة جادة فعلًا في محاربة الإرهـاب في سوريا؟

• أم أنها كانت تنتقي من “الجهاديين” من يخدم أجندتها؟

• وإذا أصبح الـجـولـانـي هو رجل واشنطن اليوم، فماذا يعني ذلك لمستقبل سوريا تحت الإرهـاب المفروض من الخارج؟

الآن، وقد تكشّف المشهد، وبات واضحًا أكثر من أي وقت مضى:

الشعب السوري لم يكن في حرب فقط، بل كانت مؤامرة جنودها من سوقوا لكسر نظرية المؤامرة بغرض نسفها في الخيانات، وصناعة الأبطال المزوّرين.

Jeffrey’s words also suggest that the so-called “pressure on Assad” was never about democracy, human rights, or even fighting TERRORISM. It was about installing alternatives, no matter how dark their pasts were, as long as they aligned — or at least didn’t obstruct — U.S. strategic interests in the region.
